Limerick City Therapy Explained
I am a graduate of Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College, Dublin and a registered member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Limerick City Therapy was founded in 2019 however I began my client hours by offering Counselling to clients in Limerick Social Services Centre, Henry Street and to students in Limerick Institute of Technology through the Counselling Department of Student Service.
I have dedicated my career to helping others. I have a previous Bachelor of Arts Degree from Limerick Institute of Technology in Applied Social Studies in Social Care. I also held the position of Head of Boarding in Villiers Secondary School, North Circular Road, Limerick for many years.
In my counselling practice, I work with people who experience a range of difficulties, including depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, bereavement, stress, self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
The therapist’s role is to listen, teach, and encourage, while the client’s role is to express concerns, learn, and implement that learning. Therefore, CBT therapists do not tell their clients what to do, rather, they search for client strengths and use them to teach their clients how to do.

Introduction to Working as a Therapist Online
“Sometimes, just the act of venting is helpful. Counseling provides a safe haven for precisely that kind of free-ranging release: You can say things in the therapist’s office, with the therapist present, that would be incendiary or hurtful in your living room.”
“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”
